Robert N. Goshgarian is a life-long Lake County, Illinois resident. He has spent his entire professional career practicing personal injury law in northern Illinois. He received his undergraduate degree from Carroll University, and his Juris Doctorate from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. With 30 years of experience as a trial lawyer, Mr. Goshgarian has obtained successful settlements and verdicts in railroad crossing incidents, airline crashes, boating and water craft crashes, bus crashes, automobile and motorcycle crashes, animal attacks, medical malpractice claims, product liability and structural work act cases. Mr. Goshgarian has won record-breaking personal injury jury verdicts, and has successfully prosecuted numerous wrongful death claims and causes of action. In his practice, he has argued cases in the Illinois Circuit Courts, Federal District Court, the Seventh Circuit Federal Court of Appeals, the Appellate Court of the State of Illinois and the Illinois Supreme Court.
Mr. Goshgarian has been awarded an “AV” rating by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest possible rating. He is admitted to the United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois.
He is on the Board of Managers of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, is a member of the American Bar Association, American Association for Justice, Illinois State Bar Association, the Armenian Bar Association and the Lake County Bar Association.

Matthew P. Biesterfeld joined the Law Offices of Robert Goshgarian in March 2012 after being admitted into the Illinois State Bar in November 2011. Prior to joining the Law Offices of Robert Goshgarian, Matthew worked as a law clerk and associate attorney at Kralovec, Jambois, & Schwartz in Chicago, Illinois. During that time, Matthew investigated and prepared a wide variety of personal injury and wrongful death cases. These cases included claims involving medical negligence, motor vehicle negligence, and product liability.
Matthew earned his law degree from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois in May 2011. While in law school, he excelled academically and served as a teaching assistant for Legal Analysis, Research and Communication. In addition, Matthew earned a Dean’s Certificate of Service as a result of his participation in various community programs including Lawyers in the Classroom.
Matthew grew up in Crete, Illinois, attended the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana, and graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2006.
Matthew is a member of the American Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and the Lake County Bar Association.

Christina Zechiel joined Law Offices Robert N. Goshgarian in 1992. Chris has been an integral part of the investigation and prosecution of our firm’s personal injury claims and causes of action. The majority of these causes of action have been filed in the Circuit Court of Lake County, the Circuit Court of Cook County and the United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois. In conjunction with this work, she has assisted in preparing appellate briefs for the Second District Illinois Appellate Court and the Illinois Supreme Court.
In addition to serving as office manager, Chris has served as a legal assistant to thousands of clients who have suffered personal injuries or wrongful death. She has facilitated the preparation of Complaints at Law and a vast assortment of motions, discovery and investigative initiatives. Chris is dedicated to ensuring the accurate and thorough compilation of the information necessary for the prosecution of each client’s case, and fostering the expeditious resolution of each claim and cause of action.
Prior to her joining our firm, Chris Zechiel earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and graduated with honors and distinction from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Immediately following graduation, she performed extensive legal research for the book Recovery of Damages for Crimes and Intentional Wrongs (McGowen, Darrell, Lawpress Corporation 1993).
Chris spent her early years in the Washington, D.C. area. She subsequently relocated to Northbrook, Illinois where she graduated from Glenbrook North High School as an Illinois State Scholar. Chris now enjoys being a resident of Lake County, Illinois.
